- The 45-man Indian Armed Forces team has landed in Hanoi, Vietnam, to take part in the fourth edition of the Joint Military Exercise VINBAX-2023.
- VINBAX was founded in 2018, with the debut edition held in Jabalpur, Madhya Pradesh, India.
- This training event is held on a yearly basis, rotating between India and Vietnam. The last edition was held in August 2022 at Chandimandir Military Station.
- The exercise seeks to create collaborative ties and increase interoperability between the two countries.
- Peacekeeping as a priority: It is consistent with Chapter VII of the UN Charter on Peacekeeping Operations.
- The emphasis of training is on the deployment and employment of an Engineer Company and a Medical Team in the form of a Command Post Exercise or Field Training Exercise.
Modules for Activities and Training
- Tactical share: The exercise will allow the contingents to share tactics, techniques, and procedures.
- Drills in Engineering and Medicine: Participants will exchange cutting-edge techniques for building roads, culverts, helipads, ammo shelters and observation posts. The training also includes combat engineering and medical drills.
- Validation activity: To demonstrate the standards attained by both contingents, the activity will finish with a Validation Exercise.
