- The Konkan exercise is an annual bilateral maritime practise between the Indian Navy and the Royal Navy of the United Kingdom.
- This version featured the guided missile frigate INS Trishul and the Type 23 guided missile frigate HMS Lancaster.
- They conducted numerous maritime exercises to improve interoperability between the two forces and to instill best practises.
- The exercises encompassed all aspects of maritime operations, including air, surface, and subsurface operations.
- It included surface inflatable target ‘Killer Tomato’ gunnery shoots, helicopter operations, anti-air and anti-submarine warfare exercises, Visit Board Search and Seizure (VBSS), ship maneuvers, and personnel exchange.
- The exercise will assist the Indian Navy and the Royal Navy in improving maritime security and maintaining a rules-based order in the area.
